Our home base is a 800 sq ft park model in a 55+ Snowbird Resort in Mesa, Arizona. A park model is part manufactured housing brought to the site as a trailer that typically contains the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Then an ‘Arizona Room’, bathroom with laundry, and a bonus room is stick built onsite. The Arizona Room is usually a family room. Our resort includes tons of things to do from November to May. Including: concerts, daily live music, two pools, a fitness center, woodshop, various clubs and activities. Jane participates in the sewing room with the quilters and I am in the photography club. I think of where we live as winter camp for geezers.
Home Base
The Nikon Z8 is a professional-grade, full-frame mirrorless camera. It is known for its 8K video capabilities, and fast AI-based autofocus. I have five lenses for this camera: a Nikon Z 14-30 mm ultra wide angle zoom for landscapes, a Nikon Z 20 mm f1.8 mm used for astrophotography, a Nikon Z 24-200 mm super zoom for hiking, a Nikon 180-600 mm for wildlife, and a Nikon Z 100-400 mm zoom used for landscapes.

While on the road Jane keeps making quits and other sewing projects with her 3160QDC. It is a highly portable, computerized sewing and quilting machine. Weighing just 12 pounds, it includes 60 built-in stitches, an automatic thread cutter, and the Superior Plus Feed System. It comes with a hard cover, extension table, and a quilting kit.

Apps
For photo editing I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. For video editing I use Davinci Resolve. Lightroom and Photoshop are part of the Photography Bundle from Adobe which is only available as a subscription for $10 per month. I use the free version of Davinci Resolve.
For trip planning we use RV Trip Wizard.com. It costs $39 per year. We are able to plan our routes and know how many miles we will drive each day. This app also has most of the RV parks in the US and Canada, truck stops, various national stores such as Walmart, Camping Worlds, and very importantly low bridges as our camper is 13 ft 4 inches tall. It is not for navigation, but for trip planning.
For daily navigation we use Google Maps. It is not big rig capable, but I review our planned route prior to leaving to ensure Google doesn’t route us under a low bridge.
For hiking I use Gaia GPS Premium it costs $48 per year. It has many trails on the numerous layers and the capability to design your own route. Trails and routes can be downloaded to your phone so it is easy to navigate once you lose cell coverage.
